Looking to find the right speedometer for the new black Harley davidson console, which does not have the light panel below - everything fully self contained including idiot lights within the speedo.
Here is what the console looks like:
5 inch opening
there are a few part numbers for this speedometer and I cant tell which one I need, I think one of them might use the secondary panel which I do not want.
btw: this is going on a 5G 2019 heritage tank, which is going on a 2020 softail standard.
Any thoughts or comments? Called Ronnies, they cant figure it out either.
If you are using a 70900817 dash, you need the 70900684B. I have the 70900817 dash on my bike and that is what fits it.
thanks Stone cold - I probably should have listed the numbers but this is what Im seeing, 70900684B vs 70900644B they look the same I just cant figure out what the difference is - and whether one requires the second instrument panel be low it with neutral and indicators etc. which would not work with the new dash.
From what I can tell , the 7900684B is the OEM Fatboy speedo that has all the idiot lights integrated into it, since the Fatboy doesn’t have a separate panel like the Heritage Classic does.

Here is another option that I have been considering. The only thing that concerns me is whether the LED's would be visible in bright sunlight. I bought an MLX-2011-K Dakota Digital speedo and everything disappears in bright sunlight. I don't know if the Harley digital gauges have the same problem or not.

I have the factory lcd on my 20 softail standard - Im not a fan of the look personally but I will say it is very functional and very visible in bright sunlight and night.

Here is another option if you want analog. If I had researched it a little more before I purchased, this is what I would have gone with. Koso also makes a tach / speedo gauge that will work, but the speedo part is digital only. I would suggest watching the video in the link to see all the features of the Dakota Digital. You can get it with a white face and chrome bezel if you like, there are four combinations.
