Metal or plastic. Have you had a issue with your Harley Davidson Dipstick and what kind?

Need year and model and all the letters along with issues.

Use this post chat to give your issue but keep it civil.

One can do an Advance Search and see the issues are pretty mixed between metal and plastic. .

Keep the poll honest. Picture are required if possible. No AI. People post crap to sale parts.

Only your issues

If you want to trade, note in thread and use PM.

The only dipsticks I've had a problem with are certain members of this forum...

There were claims 5 speed dipsticks would break. I bought after market for 5 speed, maybe 6. But the six it looked like cable was not rubbing like it did with 5s

One of each...Evo-plastic, Shovelhead-metal. The only issues would be if there was no oil on the end of it.
Thankfully, never had that problem either.

I should have asked before I answered the poll, transmission or motor. I succumb to the fear and bought a second transmission dipstick, cut it short and used it as a plug, then used the original for checking oil.

Yes, current M8 machines can have either a metal or plastic transmission dipstick.

My 2019 Electra Glide has a metal dipstick, but my 2022 Tri Glide came with a plastic dipstick.

I just ordered a plastic dipstick for the E Glide, no more metal dipsticks for me.
