Hydraulic clutch woes
2017 Road glide special. I've had the bike 3 years, and two years ago I replaced the hydraulic slave cylinder with a rekluse. Worked great, then at the end of last year, my clutch started slipping. As I do a lot of low speed, friction zone riding, I figured it was time to replace the clutch pack. Put the bike away for the winter, and pulled it out a few weeks ago. I replaced the clutch pack and took out for a spin, first gear ran great, then when I shifed the clutch just let loose, engine spinning with now engagement. Going through everything, I determined it was the rekluse and reached out to them, they had me take it apart and sure enough, the spring was in pieces. They sent me a rebuild kit, I cleaned it up, and put it together, then put it on and bled the system. Took it for a spin, and the same problem, first gear is good, engage the clutch, and now it's just free spinning. Took off the primary cover, and I can see that the clutch plates have room to float around. Took the clutch pack apart, put it back together and everything is tight, then I engage the clutch and everything floats around again. It's as if the pressure plate return all the way.
