Default 06 I duction module on a 2005 Softail

Hi, has anybody successfully done this? I had a snapped throttle spindle on my 05 Fatboy, so a replacement throttle body is needed. This part is obsolete, and no UK or European dealers have one in stock, and there are no used ones available in the UK. I searched the internet and it seemed a change to an 06 induction module was possible with some sensor connector changes.i Purchased an 06 unit complete with injectors and all sensors, and i have changed the injector, TPS and IAT connectors to the correct later spec.I seemed as if the module would physically fit on first inspection , but now i have tried to install it, there is an issue with the mounting screws on the air cleaner side. I am using the 05 flanges, but the mounting screws foul the throttle body where the manifold curves at right angles to connect to the inlet ports. I have slightly shortened the scres, turned the diameter of the heads down as much as i can, and ground the manifold away at th contact area as much as i dare, but it is still not possible to get the screws to line up squarely with the tapped hole in the head, and get them started in the thread. Has anybody actually done this swap, if so how did you get round this clearance issue, other than changing to later heads and manifold mounting flanges. Sorry i cant post any pictures as my phone has just decided to become a brick. One thing after another!
Thanks 666

The wirirng on the iac is different as well, easy pin swap in connector, dont have the specific handy. Make sure you have the front flange on the frontncylinder and the rear, easy to mix that up.

thanks for the reply. Yes, the connector wiring is not the problem. It is the problem with the clearance of the air cleaner side flange mounting screws with the manifold . Good point about the front and rear flanges though, it is easy to forget about that and mix them up. As i originalyl said, has anybody actually done the swap?
