Default Riding my trike after a right knee replacement.

In the past year, I've had my left shoulder and my left knee replaced. I was given permission to drive two weeks after surgery for both of these replacements. Next week I am having a total right knee replacement. My surgeon says it will be at least 6-8 weeks before I can safely drive because of the increased reliance on strength and flexibility for the right foot. This may be true for driving my truck but what about my trike? My Freewheeler has linked brakes and my hand reflexes won't be impacted by the surgery. At my two week post op checkup I hope to ask my surgeon for special permission to drive my trike. I won't drive if I don't feel safe or still reliant on drugs. I do need permission from my surgeon to legally drive after surgery. I am wondering if another forum member faced a similar situation and allowed to drive their trike early in the recovery process.

Once I was able to get on I rode.
Had both knees and a shoulder done.

I had don’t recall exactly how long after surgery but as soon as I was comfortable I rode. Doctor never mentioned anything about driving.

My insurer says the following about driving post op, "Your surgeon must clear you, as driving with limited mobility or on painkillers invalidates your insurance." . My surgeon has proven to be very reasonable and trusts my judgement on when I feel safe to drive, but I wouldn't risk driving without his verbal OK..
