I don't know what you are planning to get done. But take some advice, before any of the work is done get an estimate for what you want done and how long it is expected to take in WRITING!! Make sure you know what avenues are available to you should you be dissatisfied with either, ie what are the policies regarding deposits and monies paid. Make sure these are in writing also. If you want any sort of custom work performed, provide clear pictures of examples of what you want done. Ask ahead of time what is the protocol should you end up with something that doesn't resemble the examples you provided.

I was just curious, nothing in particular yet... I dropped a rim/tire off at a shop by me to just have the tire removed. We agreed on reasonable price and turn around time. When I went to retrieve it I was greeted with "man you really scratched the **** out of the rim". The weekend before a friend and I removed the tire, trued and reassembled in his garage. Only problem was we had too much offset (manual looks like they are measuring to side of rim from rotor, but it's to inside first lip) So after mounting it at my place and saw our screw up, I removed tire from bike and broke the bead on one side when I thought what the hell, it shouldn't cost that much to have XXXXX finish taking it off, I don't want to trash the paint. I must admit I was very hesitant to take it to them as I've never seen a good looking ride there waiting for service, which stuck in the back of my mind. But I figured they are a business and have the right tools for the task. Not using the right tools raises the chances of rim damage. So with that greeting, I immediately knew they ****ed it up and I bit down hard on my lower lip and murmured to myself, "I should have listened to my gut!" I rolled the dice and they came up Snake Eyes. No doubt I'm responsible for a couple of the dings but not the way it is now. I immediately realized I should have photographed it in his presence when dropping it off for just this case, so that's my bad. It's a black rim so it can be reshot, not the end of the world. Instead of getting into a winless, enemy making fight, I took the high road (right or wrong), paid the man the Saw Buck I owed, ignored the cosmetic damage, chatted a bit then split. Obviously I won't bring them any more work. I'm not going to flame them here as I'm not ABSOLUTELY sure who did what damage. I chalked it up as my fault for not going with my gut. Who knows, his wrench is probably telling his bros about how bad I screwed it up!
So the short answer to your question would be, I'd like to find a full service shop who take pride in their work and that can service mount and dismount rim and tires professionally.
