New Heritage
Dealer here in town has a new 2014 Heritage in stock, will a H/D dealer come off that MSRP price, as when you negotiate as on a new car? Riding season is for the most part over here in the Midwest.
Whats the best price I can expect, I bought a new Sportster in 2007, pretty much paided asking price, except for some discounts on accessories.
thanks

I think it depends on which dealer your dealing with.
I assume your working with one of the three local dealers.
Loess Hills being kinda remotely located is probably more motivated to make a deal.
Dillon Brothers being the "big" outfit that they are is probably the toughest to deal with.
Holstein's (my favorite) is probably somewhere in the middle.
I think all three though would rather not carry a bike over the winter so there's motivation to make a deal there.
Also, 2014 models are for the most part "last year's" model so there's some depreciation off MSRP there.
I bought my Heritage from Dillon's during early summer timeframe (prime season) and I got them to come off the asking price $1000 and throw in $1000 store credit plus one free oil/service.
For me that was $2000+ off the asking price seeing that I knew I would be spending at least $1000 at the dealer on new crap anyway and we all need to get the bike serviced at one time or another.
I perhaps paid too much for my Heritage, and many would look at the deal I made and think I was crazy, however I fell in love with the bike the first time I saw it and just had to have it. I have no regrets and still love it.
Regardless with what anyone else thinks, as long as I can live with the deal that's all that matters to me.
So when you factor it all in, at the end of the day it's not about what we think your deal should be, but rather is the deal OK with you.
Ask yourself; are you willing to pay asking price for the bike?
If so, then anything less is money in your pocket.
If not, then your passion for that particular ride is not there and perhaps you should keep looking.
Just my opinion.
Good luck, I know it's a tough decision.

Likely your baragining power will depend on the demand vs supply in your local area. If there are 10 guys coming in right behind you who all want bikes -- and interested in the one you like -- then they won't be too motivated to cut the price for you when there are other prospective buyers. I think overall, somewhat tough to get the dealers to come way down on HDs because they're so popular.
I bought a 2010 with 1800 miles on it, $3000 worth of chrome and a power commander, vance hines exhaust , rear lowering kit, bike looks new $12K, I am happy with the deal. thanks for your replays. Bought it at Holstiens.
Congrats on your new ride dude and welcome to the softail family.
Congrats on the bike!
My experience around here in SC is that the dealers will not budge much on the bike's MSRP on a new bike. What you have to negotiate is the extras (exhaust, bags, special hardware, etc). I got the add-ons I wanted and the 5 yr unlimited mileage warranty thrown in, all at MSRP.
