Default New grips!?

OK, let hear opinions on this. Installed a new set of grips from a manufacture who shall remain nameless. For all intensive purposes they look to be very high quality. Problem is no matter what I do I can't get all the slop out of the system. Adjusted both cables as per the manual and you have to twist the throttle almost a quarter of a turn before the butterfly starts to move. This is with the throttle cable adjusted all the way out and the return adjusted all the way in. At this point I'm about to take it all back apart again and measure the diameter of the grip where the cable rides because all I can figure is it's a smaller diameter.

Any thoughts???

They do make 1/4 and 1/2 turn throttles. They even make a shorter throw for racing. But I've never heard of it taking a 1/4 turn before there is any response at all. I am assuming it wasn't like that before? Is there slack in the throttle? Meaning you can rock the grip back and forth?

You need to review your manual and check some YouTube vids. The brass ferrules in place? Cables routed correctly. If u didn't switch the cables check down below maybe one came off its "cam". If all else fails put the old one back on see what happens.

Yes, you can rock the grip back and forth and no, it wasn't like that before.

Everything was adjusted as per the correct manual for this bike. Ferrules are in place, cables are routed correctly, everything is riding where it should be on the throttle body. It's got 65 miles on it. Nothing else has been touched.

Check where they are seated on the air intake? Might have slipped of the seating...

Nope. The cable is riding in the groove on the throttle body cam.

Sorry, but it sounds like they're not designed correctly, or possibly wrong ones for your ride. I'd send them back for refund and try something else. You shouldn't have the cable tension adjusted that tight out-the-box.

Wrong ones? Is there more than one type for a dual cable set up? Didn't think there was. If I look through all the catalogs I don't see anything else offered except for TBW.
