Default Drill side plates?

I've got detachable sissy bar side plates, but they're the wrong ones--no cut out for the saddle bag mounting bolt. So, I'm thinking about just drilling through the side plate to install. Yes, I know it'll no longer be detachable, but that's not a concern of mine. Thoughts? Tips?

Thanks.

My custom sissy bar is black. Wonder if it could paint the brackets. Let me think about it.

If you drill them they will be worthless for resale... Sell them on eBay and find the set you need on eBay.

Just my 2˘

If you need black just get black..I don't think you should try to doctor up chrome ones

Yea I have done that, no problem. Did it to mount flsts bags on my Fatboy. Center punch first drill pilot hole then drill to size.
