Doesn't it tick you off when you open an otherwise interesting message and you end up scrolling from here to New Jersey and back just to read it? Did you ever wonder why that happens? Here's the answer: It's because one of our esteemed members dropped in a link about a foot long to some web page somewhere in the thread, instead of using the "link" function so thoughtfully provided by the designers of the message board software.
Here's how you do it:
Right above where you're typing your message, there are a lot of little buttons. Some say "quote" or "color" or "list", and one says"link." Put the cursor at the place in the message that you want to put the link you've copied, and click on that "link" button. When the little window opens, paste the link into the second box, labeled URL. Now give it a text name (like, if you want to say "you can find it HERE," type here in the text box. Then click OK, and you're done. No more scrolling for all who read your words of wisdom.
Oh, and if you to make sure it worked, click "preview" before you submit the message and test the link. You could also check your spelling while you're at it, and your logic, to give the rest of us a really swell reading experience.
