What is this plug in fender for?
Hello,
I am chopping up my fender for some custom work. I'll be filling in unneeded holes while I am at it for a cleaner look. Looking at my fender, at the top I see there are the two holes for bolting down my seat and the passenger seat.
Between the two there is a rubber plug in a hole. Anyone know what this is for? A friend suggested it might be to cushion the passenger seat, but I don't think it would do much for that. I'd like to get rid of it and fill it in if it is not needed.
I've attached a picture I borrowed of the internet with an arrow pointing to what I am talking about.
Thanks for any help!

It might be there. But damn I don't recall noticing it. LOL I looked up the rear fender on Ronnies HD and the exploded view shows the hole and plug. My guess is like yours is that it is for an additional after market seat mount.
