I just installed the JW Speaker 8700 Evolution 2 headlight and it works great. I'm curious what that LED "swap-out" deal for the headlight will be like. You will have to post some pics. Also, I hope that the light is somewhat controlled and not scattered like the HID kits that blind everyone.

Let you know about the headlight tomorrow. Gotta be better than the stock bulb. Weather is not the best for night riding now.
The Site states that if you have a CanBus, it will throw codes due to the low draw.
I wonder if you connect auxiliary lamps to the same circuit, it will create more draw and not throw codes.
I wonder if Fuel Moto has an answer?

I've been thinking about upgrading to the evo2 LED headlight. I've seen some 'head to head' comparisons of it vs a stock and previous generation daymaker shown against walls, and it looks to be a significant improvement. My biggest concern is how it compares to stock on sideward light output, particularly at shorter to medium range - the light that might catch in the eyes of deer or other critters at the edges of the road. Can you comment on how it is in that area - from an 'on the road' perspective?

Thanks!
We still have snow on the ground here so the "on the road" perspective will likely be 3 more weeks. I can tell you this though.... I shone them on my garage door and the improvement over the HD LED was noticeable. It has a much wider beam pattern.... so it will definitely hit the ditches better. When you kick in the high beams it throws a lot more light out front as well.

Hah - should have checked on your location before I asked that - you're probably gonna be longer to ride than I am in southern Maine. Thanks for the additional input on the light pattern though. I'm getting awfully close to ordering...
