Was going to do the SS 98" big bore kit, but when I went to my local shop they told me they had a set of cylinders already bored for 95", and would give them to me in exchange for my stock cylinders. I jumped on the deal, then ordered a set of custom pistons from R&R Cycles in NH (made by CP Carrillo specifically for R&R), and waited to see what my crackshaft run out would be to decide if I would go with gear driven cams. After pulling it apart they determined my run out was .002, so we went with the R&R Cycles 525 Gear Driven Cam (http://rrcycles.com/cart/index.php?m...products_id=28). While it was apart they bead blasted the cylinder heads, installed new springs, and checked the valves. We will wait to see what the deck height is before we order a head gasket to make sure we get the right size that we need. Static compression should be about 9.96:1, with a cold cranking compression of 190. I'm having them install compression releases as well. Also, they are going to paint the cylinders and heads satin black, and the pushrod covers gloss black.
I know I will probably be losing some power by sticking with the 2-2 exhaust, but I'm not looking for a drag bike or a dyno queen.

While I have it apart, they are also replacing the triple trees with Hawg Halters smooth triple trees that will be painted black, a new head light, LED tail lights, repaint my oil lines and oil tank cap black, and adding Lyndall Racing front and rear Phoneix brakes with Gold Pads.

Should be all done by next week!
Keep us updated as you upgrade, always tell serious when they start upgrading that motor...lmfao
That air cleaner stage one? K&N HD-0800 with a rain sock, and I'm thinking a chrome AC cover will give that a really sweet lookin touch. Look at badbaggers covers, they are heavy duty and a piece of art. I like the 3D for stage 1. I always use them on my upgrades.

Take it for what you want, just a lil perspective from another angle.

I am impressed with what you did with the motor. Cheers
Little chrome or polished touches here and there will make it more interesting to look at.
