Hello, I'm new to this HD thing after playing with Muscle cars for the last 30+ years and I have a question about an unused plug underneath the seat by the fuse box. What's it for? It has a rubber plug in the end of it and it is grey in color with 4 wires going into it sitting on the left side rear of the battery. My bike is a 2000 Fatboy with 13,660 Km's on it. I'm thinking of installing an aftermarket pair of driving lights (LEDS) and not really familiar around this sorta thing. I'm sure I'll pick it up after awhile like anything else.
Any help would be greatly appreciated-thanks......
That plug is used to jump 2 wires and read the engine codes from the flashes of the engine light on the dash. Instead of taking it to a dealer and paying to get the codes read.

Remove the tank bolts and lift the front of the tank to get to the wiring harness. Double check the wiring schematics for your year, if I remember correctly you'll be looking for the blue wire to tap into. I would not connect to anything coming from the switches only to the feed.
There are several older posts on the subject if you care to search them. I know I did a complete walk through on this a few years back.
