Has anyone bought one of the cheaper engine guards off of eBay? I would like to put one on my deluxe just in case, but I don't want to spend a fortune. I also don't want something super cheaply produced that I am going to regret how it looks or have the chrome flake off. Any pictures and info on where you found it would be appreciated. Here is a link to an example of what I have been seeing on eBay and a picture of my bike. Love to hear what you think would look nice.

The difference in price after the $55 shipping between that one and the genuine HD one is $62. And that chinese one has in big bold red letters that it may not even fit and you'll need to do modifications to make it work.
You should wait a couple of weeks to find the extra $62 but it's your choice of headache if you don't.
Save a few dollars by bringing lunch to work and get quality reputable bars. I got Cobra fattys on Amazon for $170 and free shipping. They are not mustache bars, but they are 1.5" thick bars.
That bikes too nice to throw cheap **** at. I found a HD guard locally on craigslist for 40 bucks. Stay patient and wait for someone to get rid of their softy and there will be deals to be had.
NO way would I buy something with those warnings about they won't/don't fit....
I have to say that every part/mod I've added to the bike was bought at the Dealers counter..
And everyone of them has fit perfect, has worked perfect and still looks new and they are all 7-8 yrs old..
Well ----that is, Except for the Leather Fringe I made, which I ordered a whole Elk hide to make them.
I bought one of the cheapie $99 crash bars off eBay several years ago. They are very thin and flimsy. I was turning into my driveway one day (gravel) and was going a little faster than I should have and went down. Those bars did save the bike from damage but they were bent to hell. I ended up buying Jardine bars and are much higher quality for about $50 more
I will share this again from personal experience. Trying to save a dime today cost you a dollar tomorrow. You get what you pay for. I too have tried to stay with mostly Harley parts. That which is on my bike that isn't Harley is only because Harley didn't make it.
