Default First Harley
About 5 minutes ago I purchased my first Harley. 2002 Softail Standard. The old girl only has 9000 miles of her and the local dealer shot me a hell of a deal (IMO).


Is there anything that I need to be aware of with this bike? How about the cam chain tensioners?


Picking her up tomorrow so I'm sure there will be no sleep tonight!

How old are the tires?

Anything over 4 years needs to be replaced.

This is the reason I will be trailering her home tomorrow. I am not sure.

Get the correct service manual, you'll be glad you did.
For peace of mind, change all the fluids and filter yourself.
You'll learn about your bike as well as knowing what fluids its running and the correct levels.
Enjoy your new bike.
