Default Threads Stripped PLEASE HELP!!

I just got some 41mm quick detach clamps in the mail yesterday. I just bought some bolts today for them, but the bolt stripped the threads on the locking clamp. The bolts worked perfect for the other three clamps. Can anyone tell me what the thread is supposed to be for the locking clamp, if its different from the others?

I know I'm not much help as I have no idea what clamp you're referring to but if you have some calipers, measure the bolt diameter and then count the threads per inch. If its a standard imperial bolt it'll be a standard size like for instance 5/16"-18 or 5/16"-24 (.312" diameter 16 or 24 threads per inch). If its a metric bolt it'll measure for instance, .315" diameter which is an 8mm or M8 bolt. The threads are alittle different on metric hardware but by figuring out the diameter you can search for the pitch.

Pictures of the clamps will help understand what you did and what you are looking for.

Used a 5/16-24x1 bolt like i did for the other picture.

Fit like a glove on this one and the other two.

Going to need a thread repair for sure..

I prefer "Timeserts" but helicoil should work just fine.. Seem to have plenty of meat around the hole so go at it..

That's what i may do, but was hoping that someone would know off hand what the diameter and thread count was. Reason being that if what i used was indeed correct, i was sent a defected clamp and going to return for replacement. Otherwise I'll have to repair and used slightly larger bolt.
