Fl-vied-10
I installed my Rinehart Churchills over the weekend on my Lo. They look and sound great. I had some issues with decel pop prior to the installation with the slipons but going to the Rineharts, the popping got worse. I went ahead and ordered the VIEDs along with a Arlen Ness Big Sucker A/C. I had the XIEDs on my sportster and got great results out of them. My only question is what is the best setting to set the VIEDs at on the 103? The XIEDs I had werent adjustable so I ddint have to worry about it. Im hoping someone on here with a similiar set up has found a good sweetspot with these things that i can start with. Thanks in advance for any help.
I used those for a year on a Slim.
I found 75% to be the sweet spot.
I started, as suggested in the instructions, to start around 55% and tweak from there.
Each notch upward seemed to improve all the way up to 75.
Once there I left it for a couple of weeks.
Later I decided to go ahead and run it up to 100 to see if it improved any more, since that is essentially where the XiED's are.
It didn't improve - in fact a lot of the decel pop returned, so I went back to 75 and left it there.
FWIW, I since upgraded to a V&H FuelPak3, since I always figured the ViED's were only a temporary solution anyway until something better came along - and I was never all that happy with the full-time piggyback install.
The results with that were nothing short of amazing - there's no comparison really.
I only wish the FP3 had been available sooner, as I would have skipped the ViED's altogether...
There's nothing wrong with the ViED's, they definitely perform as advertised IMO.
But compared to a tuner they're basically just a system hack...

Thanks for the info. I know that they are in no way as good as getting a tuner but they are much cheaper and get the job done. The other added bonus is the ease of installation and removal in case of any warranty issues. The xieds were great on my sportster and did exactly what I wanted so I'm sure these will be more than adequate for my needs.
