So, I'm about to sign the paperwork on an 06 Fatboy this week.
Clean, stage 1 kit, V&H short shots, ***** G skulls EVERYWHERE. you can't upgrade any more parts on this bike unless you start chopping. And it only has 9,000 miles on it. (bought in the US and driven up to Canada) I think it's an amazing deal! Even if it IS yellow.
All for $14,000 CAN
This will be my first Harley AND my first bike. (let's not get into anyone's views on what a good first bike is)
My issue it, when I throw my leg over it, it instantly feels like it was not meant for me... I dunno what it is. I sat on a couple of night trains and some HSC and I melted into the seat and felt at home.
The dealer said it was a $1200 seat (which is probably not true) and they refused to swap it with something else.
Should I let a sweet bike like this go just because of a seat?
You should be paying less than that considering that it is not 100% stock. Upgrades and trinkets devalue a motorcycle, not increase it.
He is Canadian. Adjust for Canadian dollars and overall pricing being higher on top of that in Canada and it is probably in the ballpark. Not a great deal, but kit a bad one either.
Is it the height of the seat? The bars? Footpegs or floorboards? What is it that doesn't feel right? Bike too high or low? These things can be adjusted easily.
I have an '06 fatboy also. similar set up (although not ***** g skulls) with similar miles in black that I'd sell you for less. I have 3 seats
21" fat spokes, 18" spokes on the rear, 95" engine, all chromed out. It's currently set up with a hand shift/foot clutch (which is cool), but I could convert it back for you

It's the comfort of the seat itself. just doesn't feel right. I asked them to swap it out but they said no. They offered me $$$ towards a new seat, but if I'm gonna pay full sticker for a used bike, I want something...
