I have a 2003 fatboy. Pretty stock. Just put V&H competition drag pipes on!!! Love them. I was wondering what you guys think is the BEST performance upgrade for my Fatboy...Carb...Heads..trans..whatever. Thanks for any advice.

 

Probably the best initial thing you could do is put on some performance pipes and a air cleaner upgrade and power commander.

 

can youuse a power commander on a carburated bike?

 

Air cleaner and jet your carb.

Then heads/cam is your best power adder.

It's all a package deal and doing one without the other will not net you the best gains.

Good info..I've been leaning towards putting a new Mikuni carb and the screaming eagle air cleaned..like yours Hammer (nice Bike).

 

Thanks Jim. I wouldn't throw out the stock carb...they aren't bad. You will just need to rejet to match performance.

Drawing on from this post, i have a screaming eale air filter and pipe on my carbed 02 Deuce and have been thinking about binning the air cleaner for a kurakyn hypercharger.

Would I be better of with a performance ignition module and re-jet? I can see how the hyperchargers flow better but are they more show than go than just a screaming eagle air filter?
