Default Custom seat

So in another thread I asked for info on seat makers. Got feedback and contacted a maker. He wrote back saying I had to provide the seat pan (?) How/where do I get one for my 2001 Heritage?

My recent Japanese scoot had a nice saddle on it from this guy http://diamondseats.com/ in Florida.

It was on the bike when I bought it from the PO. I kept the bike nearly 15 years and the saddle was still in nice shape when I sold it. My wife liked it a sight good. The passenger pillion was real comfy as was the drivers seat. He has you to take inseam and height measurements and such before he makes the saddle.

Don't quote me on this but seems like he furnished the seat pan with it. I think it was made of some kind of composite material.

You can probably get them either way but the one I had, was studded leather around the outside with light grey diamond sewn velour inserts which was nice, not sticky, cool in the summer and warm in the winter. He gives you a cover to go over it for when you wash the bike or for rain riding. Just thought I would throw that out their. Good Luck To You.

Buy a cheap used seat that will fit your bike and send it in, they just need the pan/base to build your new seat. We have used Duane in the past, he does amazing work; it is not cheap ($1000+) but will be one of a kind!

If you can wait till the dead of winter when the snow starts flying, just send the one in you have and let them send it back with the new one. I'd imagine the turn around time would be around 2 to 3 weeks at most.

Some of the saddle makers might already have the seat pan mold for a Heritage since it's a pretty common ride.
