Hey guys, I have a question.
I own a 1998 Fatboy and when I bought it, the dealer installed the stage I kit with screaming eagle pipes. Now I wantlouder pipes, some people have told me to get Samsungs for Throaty, deeper, louder sound. I'm looking at these pipes "Samson Big Guns
Low Magnums Exhaust ". My question is, can I just replace the pipes? or do I have to modify the carburator, jets, filter, etc, etc?.. your reply will be greatly appreciated.

RE: Question about pipes
There's no "cut and dried" answer to this one. You "may" have to make adjustments to your setup, but you won't really know for certain until you install the pipes. BTW, you'll LOVE those Samson pipes! I get nothing but compliments regarding both the looks and the deep bass sound of mine.
You have probably been asked this a million times, but since we are on the subject, I have to ask. How does the general law-enforcement population feel about loud pipes? My pipes are relatively loud, but I don't twist the throttle like an a** when I'm riding around town, so I haven't really had any issues. Nevertheless, everytime I see a police car when I'm on the road, I feel like I have to make an extra effort to keep the sound down.
BTW, how do your pipe's rate on the loudness scale?
