Default FLS Frame Width

Does the Fatboy low share a frame with the Slim? The reason I ask, I'm looking to install Part # 52729-08A (Fatboy Sissy Bar) on to my Slim. I'm hoping I can just notch the rear bracket to clear the lights.

I think you'll find the Fat Boy has wider frame rails to accommodate the wider fender and tire.

I just made my own detachable luggage rack for my Slim. Here is what I know.
The width between the grooves at the forward detach spools is 10".
The distance between the spools is 6" forward to aft.

Also, the turn signal stalks are very close to the aft spools. Forum member Wachuco has a Slim S mod thread in which he modified the aft notches on a luggage rack to avoid relocating turn signals.

It's a big thread, but it's in there. Somewhere near the middle or closer to the end.

Yeah, wasn't sure. I know the slim shares a frame with one of them.

Definitely the Blackline, but you probably knew that. Possibly the Heritage and Deluxe since they seem to use the same wheel/tire size.

I was wondering the same when I was shopping for a luggage rack.

Its more the fender struts than the "frame" proper.

The Slim/Blackline struts are offset for the narrow fender whereas
most other softail struts are relatively "straight back" and are
thus wider. The accessory mount points on the non FLS/FXS
struts are also wider apart so accessories do not work.

Hope this helps,

T.

This can take a few min, but one can answer most (but not all) of these fit questions using the part #'s and images:

http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche.....asp?make=hdmc

As others have said, I think the answer is no. FLS/ Backline has its own fender struts. A late model Fatboy fender (or sissy bar / rack, etc.) will not bolt on or fit a FLS. (too wide and different bolt pattern). A 2006 or earlier Fatboy part (before the wide tire / fender change) will bolt right on a Heritage or Deluxe, they share the same bolt hole patterns.
