Daymaker options? maintenance question
This thread has confused me, though admittedly that is no huge feat.
As far as I know;
The HD "Daymaker" is made by JW Speaker. I do not know that they've updated what HD sells, but it has been the older version (I believe maybe it's the Evo I.)
JW Speaker makes their own (non HD branded) lights, just labeled the Evo series. The more recent WAS the Evo II. By accounts it was "better" than the older version being sold by HD AND cheaper, to be had for 270-ish. I opted for that light and am MORE than happy.
JW Speaker now has an even newer light out with is mind alteringly expensive.
There are also other lights (Trucklight, and such) that others will call equal or superior... I'm not addressing that because they're differently named by different companies. I think.
And once upon a time I hated tomatoes but really rather enjoy them now.

Haha.. I edited the title of this thread..
I searched the JW Speaker site but was not sure how to order a light from them, nor was i for sure that i selected the correct light for my bike..
I think i will opt for the HD version though..
Why? I mean that as a serious question. Mind you, I do not have the same bike as you, yours might not be a simple swap, I don't know. But on my Fatboy I removed the old headlight, put the new headlight in and then.... Oh, wait, that was all.
It could literally not have been any easier. Unless someone else did it for me I mean.
But if you'll pay more to have "Harley-Davidson" written across the middle of the light *(I think that's where it is) then that is your right and I respect it.
Just check to see that you're not getting an older and possibly inferior product for nearly 2x the cost.

But again, if you really want the HD light, go for it. I'm just trying to make sure you understand your options.

I wasnt sure that the other recommended lights were plug and play. I will gladly pay less, i just want to make sure that the light im getting is just as good if not better than the one from HD.
I would be grateful for a link that would point me in the right direction.
someone posted this link but wasnt sure that it would plug and play with my bike and if it was any better than the HD version.
I didn't order mine from the JW site either. Got mine from amazon. I think you just need to know what size your light is. The 7" ? But I'm sure someone else around here could tell you for sure.

Hell, I want LED lights for my 2015 F-150 but I am tight and dont want to spend 140 per bulb for the low beams.. my truck cost a bit more than this bike, but still.. Thats a lot of money to me for a dang light
I want mine to be in black btw
Looks like i found it.. Do i need a wire harness for that or no?

I'm pretty sure that's the exact one I bought. I did not need anything else. Just the light. Again, for my FatboyLo. Both Softails but please please don't act solely on my word. Wait a few minutes and check with someone who has the EXACT same bike as you. (This is my first HD and I'm still catching on to what fits what and what's the same and not).
Daymaker option you say? you can't tell the difference from HD daymaker other than the HD badge. They're for 7" headlight buckets.
