Hello everyone. I am close to purchasing a new Harley, and I am trying to create the bike I have attached to this. I'm not sure which model the bike started as. If anyone could give me some direction as to which model to buy, and what to change out to end up with this result, I would greatly appreciate it!
Well there isn't much left on that bike that's original except the oil tank. As far as a base Harley, A Fatboy, Deluxe or Heritage will fit the build. You will be changing everything if you want to copy that picture so I guess it would come down to price and which one you prefer in stock form.
How should I go about it? And I'm looking to buy an 08-09 bike, and make the changes I want. Any idea what I should be looking aT cost wise? And should I take it to a bike builder, as I don't know much about what parts to buy?
Well cost wise if you take it to a builder you will be paying lots of labor. If you are mechanically inclined at all I would try and do as much as you can yourself . If money is no object to you then bring it to a builder with your vision and work out a price. I don't know your level of motorcycle knowledge, so only you can decide.
Fatboy has the big front tire already. Only bad part is the older ones have solid wheels which suck in the wind on trips. But a heritage will fit the build as well. General rule of thumb Everything is swappable between models of same year except the deuce, rocker and breakout.

big up get tire? not sure what you mean by that one. in the picture, what size front and rear tire do you think it has on it? and as far as motorcycle knowledge, i don't have much. i know a ton about vehicles, but I'm just venturing into this market. which is the cheapest in models between the fat boy, heritage, and deluxe? and do you think i could buy an 08 model, and make the changes to look like this for 15ish grand?
Parts look like, freight train nacelle headlight, la choppers pime ape handlebars or yaffe monkey bars, Thunderheader exhaust,Arlen ness taildragger fenders? And a Le pera solo seat, maybe ride wright wheels?
Sorry I always write front as frt due to being a mechanic and my phone auto corrected. Usually it is easier to find lower mileage fatboys cause a lot of people in my area don't ride them out of town. It might be tight on an 08 that's a lot of stuff to change out. I make more money in summer than winter so I buy parts in the summer and spend the winter installing it. I recommend stages. U might like it just before u get all the way done. The 07 is same bike. 06 had wide tire but still 88 engine 07 up had 96.
