Default Tapping in engine.

I keep hearing a tapping sound in my engine. It started the other day when I was in stop and go traffic and 96 degree weather. Thought it was probably an overheating issue. But then on my way back home after dark and at highway speeds it started again. Oil level is full. This is not the first time, as it has happened a couple of times before. Bike is an 08 fatboy with 18000 miles. Any ideas?

Does it sound like it's coming from the top end? Could be rocker shaft noise, and easily cured

Good advice from Rockout, get some sort of rocker locking devices, get them from him, install them and see if your noise goes away! I can guarantee you it will quiet down the top end, even if this is not the exact noise you are hearing...

There we go with that Hockey feller being right again. That fix certainly worked for my top end that was driving me mental.
