Oberon Levers
I put a link to a video which seems to be a good reference for installation. I had my bike at the dealer for the clutch recall so I had them install the levers while it was there.
So far I love these levers. The reduction in the reach required for both levers when set to position 1 is SIGNIFICANTLY reduced.
This does make things a bit touchy and does require getting used to and does seem to reduce the effort needed for operation. The dealer did a test ride and I was told that both levers function correctly on Position 1 however I use position 2 for both.
The reason for this on the clutch lever it is a bit to touchy for my liking on position 1 and shifting seems to be somewhat harder.
For the brake I use position 2 so I don't lose any breaking power by bottoming out the lever before the brakes are fully applied. I could be wrong but on position 2 with a normal grip I can just barely get the lever to touch the grip.
The measurements were all done pretty quick but should give an idea of the difference they make. Also if I get a pull guage I'll see if the pull weight is significantly changed for each position.
I did measure the distance each setting move the grip at the shortest point and it seems to reduce or increase this distance Aprox .1in. Here are the numbers:
Position/Measurement(in) Brake & Clutch
1/3.418/3.429
2/3.529/3.573
3/3.638/3.678
4/3.761/3.783
5/3.354/3.885
6/3.990/3.981
I also measured Positions 1 and 6 at the other end of the lever at the curve on the brake lever. Since these are so similar I didn't bother doing the clutch. This measured 3.998 and 5.14.
