I am looking to change the look on my 05 Night Train. However, I am having trouble finding what I am looking for. I know the fork diameter that I need is 41mm.
My question is... what is the difference between the '84-'99 and the '00-'12 softail triple tree? I am looking for an FLSTF styled triple tree, but haven't had much luck. Everything I am finding says it fit '84-'99 or even older.

Are you looking to change rake too? HHI makes some nice ones
Or are you just looking to change to the look of the FL front end? aka Fat Boy, Heritage, Deluxe
Where have you been looking? There are several manufactures that offer them
The main difference is going to be tune types. 84-99 had a different style too portion of the tube versus the 00-up. This the need for a different top tree. I will try and find you a picture of the difference
Fat11Lo, this was more a recent idea that I came up with. You are correct in just changing the look to that of an FL. As much as I would like to add a little rake to it, I enjoy the way it handles now. I'll wait to add rake when 1. I retire 2. start a chopper build. I have looked at JP Cycles, but they always seem to have some sort of note for wrong fitment. Almost all Arlen Ness that I have seen are raked. HawgHalters have more on them than what I need. Honestly, if I could just get the top and lower tree from a 2000-2012 Softail with an FL style setup, that's all I would need. I've got everything else (minus nacelle hardware).
misfitJason, I think I have an idea of what you're talking about. I know on mine, you can see the top bolts on the upper tree.
