I just had the 70/30 mod done, new pulley etc, theres a small swoosh swoosh swoosh when im in low gears going slow? as soon as I pull clutch in SOUND GONE? sounds like coming from primary side, I talked TO MECHANIC, HE SAISD HARLEY HAD A PROBLEM WITH BEARINGS IN THE PRIMARY, CERTAIN YEARS, BUT NOT MINE? AND IT NEVER DID BEFORE THIS MOD, ITS DRIVING ME CRAZY,**** HAS 2K ILES, AND TODAY MY BUDDY RIDING BEHIND ME SAID HE HEARD IT SQUEAL SQUEAL SQUEAL, IT GOES LIKE THAT, NOT A LONG STEADY SQUEAL, RATHER BROKEN INTO STEPS, NOISE BREAK NOISE BREAK NOISE, BREAK IS HALF SECOND ATMOST, VERY ANNOYING, PLEASE FEED ME AMMO, I KNOW ITS SOMETHING HE DID OR DAMAGED IN THERE DOING JOB, COULD BELT BE TO LOOSE DO THAT/ BELT SLIDES WHEN NOT MOVING SIDE TO SIDE, JUST A BIT, BUT IT SLIDES, HE SAID BECAUSE OF THE CHROME ETC, I BOUGHT THAT, ALTHO BELT DOES NOT SEEM TIGHT, AND IT DID SEEM TIGHTER WHEN I FIRST PICKED IT UP> OK THATS ALL I HAVE, ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED

 

This may help giving you a rough estimate on proper belt tension

 

, i even adjusted the clutch, seems the hotter engine gets the more pronounced, when i pull clutch in , noise gone, in gear off gas when you hear it, when i apply gas it seems to go away, i hope this makes sense to anyone, throwout bearing? If it is, which i dont know how such low milage, and motor babied, just broke in recentlly, do they make heavy duty ones? With a clutch perhaps etc?still squeaking

If so it is the inner primary bearing.

 

no its a HIGH pitch squeal, on and off, starts very low, as it heats up louder, bike has LOW miles, this happened when I got my bike back from doing the 70/30 mod.so in doing that,something isn't adjusted or got damaged etc..

 

Take it back to your mechanic and tell him to ride it and take care of it

 

Maybe the primary chain is to tight. Please keep us informed.

when i pull the clutch in does the primary chain dis-engage? As the sound goes away, i wanna have the best heads up i can, as it didnt do this before the mod, on phone hes like maybe the 32 is to large?lol from a 30 to a 32, really, come on now

 

check to make sure there's oil in the primary.
