Considering smooth fender struts
The previous owner had a sissy bar on my bike and it scratched the hell out of the struts. I like the looks of the smooth ones, but how hard are they to install on a lowered bike? Remove the tire or anything like that? Im asking because it appears that they bolt down from the inside of the fender. Also how about tire rubbing bolts? I have a 210 on my bike and its pretty tight. Any input is welcome, thanks.
Not positive about your set-up, frankly I don't see how you got a 210 on there. I have a 200X18 and couldn't put a credit card between my frame and tire! Yes, these are Allen Heads that are flat and will not rub on your tire, you're going to have a hard time IMO. It might be easier just to take the wheel off and do it right the 1st time?
The 210 was on there when I bought it and it is very tight.
So your saying that the smooth struts bolt from inside the fender with Allen bolts? The pics that I've seen have the bolts mounted to the strut that would go inside the fender.

If you are talking about struts like my Heartland kit with no visible holes on the outside, then obviously they mount on the inside of the fender with flat allen head screws. Not exactly sure what else you could mean by 'smooth struts?'
If space is a concern with your setup you may need to shorten the studs and use Half Nuts (thinner) to maintain clearance between the tyre.
