So DR if you just do the bars no need for cable or brake line changes.?

Yeah the BO stock is not optimal for the longer trips. Maybe if you have long arms and that kind of thing the stock set up might work OK. I think a bar change is a shame cause the low profile bars on the bike stock look good and its a PITA. But I'm thinking a bar change is needed if you want to make these things comfortable for the long haul. LA Choppers has a bar also that looks like a good choice for the BO it has a modest rise and pullback I think a little less than the TRASK bars even, but maybe enough to feel a good difference.

Thats why I would only do the spacers, the stock bars look perfect on the bike.

Yeah but TBH the spacers IMO don't look that great in there either.

I tried the riser spacers and while they made a difference, it wasn't enough to make the bike as comfortable as I wanted. I'm 5'7" but my arms are an inch or so longer than normal, and i hated the "bent over" feel to the original bars so I installed HD's "mini apes", and the it turned into a completely different feel. I've had people try it and they can't believe the difference - screw the riser spacers! Going with the apes was worth the extra work because it pays off every time I kick a leg over!

yes the part #AS47130 BP Des ABS UP 30" 35 degree 10mm magnum shieldings website is pretty handy just type in the bike and it gives you all the cable sizes stock and plus sizes pretty easily...if your just doing the riser spacers you wont need brake line...only if your doin both

I made 1-1/2" risers and bought a reach seat from harley. Between the two my short legs and arms reach the controls, and feet reach the ground, more easily.
Here's a link to the seat: http://www.harley-davidson.com/store...16-52000099--1

Installing 1.5" to 1.75" risers do the trick?
i replaced the bars with flanders bad boy bars and it made a world of a difference. no spacers. liked the bars because its subtle. just needed to grab a fat boy break hose.

Until I saw the ones from Heartland, I didn't like them either. They are just slightly larger than the base of the Stock riser and they are rounded off at the top and flow in to the riser nicely.
