Hey guys, quick question. When you replace your pads and rotors, do you order from Harley or are the parts on J&P just as good?

Get ready for a bunch of opinions on this.

I much prefer pads/rotors by any of the big name aftermarket companies, you usually get better stuff for less money. Buy EBC, Lyndall, Galfer, Etc. and you will be happy...

J&P Cycles has a good selection of aftermarket brakes.

I prefer aftermarket as they are usually a better quality.
H-D is making millions of bikes and the brakes are good enough to leave the factory but there are better quality brakes.

Just my opinion but go with Harley. They are dirty, selfcleaning pads that stop with no squeak unless there is a caliper problem. Measure your rotor wear. Do not just push pistons back in caliper. Carefully work out old pads. Slide a slightly thinner stack of shim of some sort in there and push the brake pedal to extend piston just a tad further (don't blow them out). Now shoe shine them with a cotton rag strip. Now push them in with a clamp or screwdrive and pad.
