Default Front axle size, differences

Question that I can find different, conflicting answers on the interwebs...

I'm helping somebody out with a rebuild of sorts, we're upgrading his front end. Scored a 2012 heritage front end with no wheel/ axle, naturally.
A 2012 FL softail, what size axle would come with this? 25mm or 1"? Not much of a mathematical difference but that is not something I want to mess around with! 25.4mm vs 1 inch....

Thanks in advance, I'm sure to get the best response here for sure!

BTW, Softails never used 1" axles. Moved right from 3/4" to 25mm.

Also interestingly, they made the change in the Front and Rear in 2 different years...Front first then the Rear
