Default Belt Problem

I have a 2008 Fat Boy with an S & S 124 engine (putting out 135 HP on the dyno). The engine was installed by my mechanic in August of 2016. Prior to that I popped some teeth on the original belt with only 30, 000 miles and now with approximately 3,000 miles on the new belt I once again lost some teeth on it. Has anyone had a similar thing happen. My mechanic wants me to look into to getting a 530 Chain Conversion. Has anyone had this done also? I don't want chain oil all over the chrome and prefer a belt, but it is costing me a lot because they have to remove the swing arm each time. My mechanic is going to look at the pulley to see if there is any damage causing the belt to loose teeth. I'm not a rider that pulls hole shots and would consider myself a casual rider and I take care of the motorcycle and have almost every piece of chrome that harley makes on it.
I'm looking for some guidance here.
What is the best way to cure this issue.
Thank you.

IMO you need to go to a chain. Belts can only stand up to so much power. If you want the power and reliability chain is the way to go.
