Default Good seat for a big guy

Looking for a nice, comfortable seat for my fatboy lo. I seem to only be able to make it about 60-70 miles before I need to get off and give me *** a break. I'm a big guy at about 350 lbs and 6' 2".. I know, i should be on a bigger bike. But I like my bike and don't want bags or a fairing anytime soon.

So what can I do for a better seat? I have the stock seat right now. A guy I know has a LaPera seat he wants me to try out. I beleive its a bare bones but I'm not 100% sure. Any suggestions on a good seat would be great. Was looking at a Saddlemen Dominator but haven't heard much about them.

The ones to beat are the Mustang Touring (too hard in my view) , the Sundowner (if available in that year) - too soft. The other is the Mustang Regal - looks like your crazy uncle's seat from the '80s (not tried).

Other than that - you might try a 2 series AirHawk. That will fit over the existing seat.

Also - shocks have some influence in the mix.

No idea about other brands.

A thread on the Ultimate seats. Pricey but in my butts viewpoint, the best feeling seat ever. Just did a 350 mile run only stopping for fuel, and the butt was thanking me for the seat.

I posted a photo of mine. Nice and wide, sits down into the bike, and from what I read on that thread, I have the older version with a wider neck at the tank end of the seat. I suppose a thinner seat there might be OK, but with the success I am having with it, I am not in a mood to change ANYTHING.

I have a Mustang Regal on my 97 Softail and like it's big seating size for both the rider and passenger.

I've had mine for about 3 years and find that I haven't had any issues with a sore ***. Bear in mind though, I need to stop about every 150 miles for fuel and I am not a BIG guy either.

Thanks for the input guys. I'll look into those seats. Maybe some other guys will chime in. I don't want to spend a whole lot, but at the same time it's prolly worth the money for my *** to be comfortable while riding.

Well, I'm in the camp that thinks the "shape" of the seat is much more important than how "soft" the seat is. Corbin Dual Tour seat does it for me. Hard as a rock but comfy as hell. Can ride all day with no monkey butt and I'm 6'1" and weigh about 260. However, I've heard complaints about Corbin customer service....too bad because they build great saddles. JMO

Mustang Vintage. There are a few versions of the Vintage, I have the regular solo, but they make a 2up also and make a wide touring version of both too.

I can ride all day on that thing, it also took away headaches I was getting on longer rides, I didn't realize it was the seat causing the headaches. The mustang is more comfy and must've changed my riding position slightly enough so back wasn't getting crimped on rides.
