Been a member for a while and these forums were a great source for information after bought my first Harley in 2012 ('08 Dyna Wide Glide).
Beginning of this year, I sold my Dyna and bought a Breakout
Coming from a Dyna, this is for sure an upgrade, the ride quality and smoothness are superior not to mention the stability. The first mod I got on the bike were pipes (short Shots) with SE tune and K&N filter element. I opted for the quite baffles cause I heard that the 103 with short shots might sound too loud/harsh and gets annoying on long trips. I love the sound as it is, but can't help and wonder, anyone running short shots without quite baffles on a 103 engine?
My next mods are: Daymaker, Digital tach/speedo, SlipStream foot pegs
The Daymakers are extremely overpriced junk. Constant problems with moisture collecting inside or silicone bags bursting inside them. Don't waste your money.
I have the Freedom Performance Amendments on mine. Look like the short shots. I have the Big city Monster Baffles in them. My bike is loud but thats fine with me.
I have had nothing but good luck with day maker headlights on my fat boy. However it is very possible and likely that there are cheaper alternatives. Whichever way you go you will find that the bright LED lights are wildly better than the stock hardly lights. Good luck with your choice.
