Default Leather Lid Inserts

I will post pics first of week with them installed. I ordered them for my 09 Classic about 3 weeks ago and they got here in like 2 days. The have a military discount too (very cool). I called the order in and talked to a lady I think her name is Jean. Really nice lady. I postponed install waiting for decent temps and this week has been really good for August in NC.

I glued the tops in last night...piece of cake. The 2 sides per bag.....that was a real wrestling match. I bought a bottle of leather conditioner from them and sprayed the bags down like 3 times this week in preparation. Once I figured out the trick to it, things went a lil better but they are in...and in tight as a tick. Only thing I have left to do is the front top bar on each and I ran out of daylight. I did run into trouble at first and called them today, again talking to Jean. She was going to give me the owner's cell number as he was out but I wanted to try a lot more before I worried him. That was cool for the offer though. They are in Florida too BTW if that matters at least a USA company which I like.

I guess the sides has to be tight to make sure they do what they are supposed to do. The trick is to slide the piece in from the top, making sure the outside edge stays inside the seam.....and push like crazy. I had to push an inch or 2, take a break to let the leather stretch a little, come back and repeat until you can get the top edge under the top rivets.

If I did this workout everyday for a living I would look like an ugly John Sena. I have no idea how this set stacks up to Saggy Bags or Boss Bags.....but from what I see so far in my 2 bags, no sagging now and outsides are stretched firm doing exactly what they said it was to do. I would buy them again for sure.

I have not mounted them yet since I have more to do on the bike.....but these bags turned out really good. They were sagged a lot. Only curves in them now is where I picked them up for pics. I think the Leather Lid Inserts worked.
