I dunno, why but I get really freaked out about hitting my boards when Im turning. just the thought of them being hard bolted and not on a swivel like Pegs.

Do any of you have pegs instead of boards on your Fat Boys? Tried looking for them in the big book, but no luck finding any in there. How about aftermaket?

 

Uh your floorboards will move up when hit... just like pegs do... go yank on one while its on its kickstand it will move up..

oh yeah i have pegs.. in the form of Forward Controls... and ur not exactly going to find em in the HD catalog for your fatboy.
tho u could possibly use a deuce set up or a CVO springer set up or a night trains setup or even a standards forward controls...ull have to work with your dealer on that one

only thing you have to worry about on a fatboy with forward controls that are extended... is hitting the front fender when u turn the wheel.. so u could go all out extended if you modified the front fender or took it off or had a smaller one..

One of the times I dropped my bike, at the very beginning before I got bars, the board took the hit, and it had been pushed up like 4 inches. I simpily pushed it back down, hard. So there is a sort of swivel thing on there. Must be.

But I know what you mean, I took a roundabout once that was on a slope, leaned a little too far just at the bottom of it and nearly had a heart attach. lol

I think it was vertigo that was getting tired of scrapping the boards all the time, so he changed them out to forward controls.

I ordered from a local shop went there(10% off but local at least they helped me figure out what lines I needed, I must of spent a few hours looking at HDs website tryn to figure out what I need, writing part numbers down and lengths)..

I did manage to goto the pub tho and visit my mum and ...and loaf around all day haha..

should of mowed the lawn
should of cleaned the bike off of 1000s of little bugs

 

Right on guys thanks. I dodnt think that my boards are moved, I just figured that they were rigid mounted. Any particular brand for pegs?

 

I am thinking of switching to pegs myself. Wonder how much the cost?

 

the board are mounted by two bolts, usually pretty tight. You can look under and see them. If you losen the bolts the board will move up. Not really sure why they didnt make them moveable with a spring return. I guess it lets ya know you are getting too far over LOL.

I like having a large area to rest my boots on when riding.
