Default Sissy bar help

Ok so i have wanted a custom twisted iron sissy for a while on my 05 train. So this is the winter I want to do it. My question is on ebay I am seeing two side plates for roughly $100.00 that are black and when installed leave a square opening to install a bar of my choice. Question do they go to the outside of strut or between strut and fender. Cannot seem to find this out. Any help on this would be great. Also just as A side note bike has heartland 250 kit on it and yes I know they make one but it is pricey and just not my style.thanks guys

Ginz Choppers, add that to your search. Photo below shows their mounting hardware. One bolt each side up into the sissy bar, easy off/easy on. Quality product and very sturdy.

It might be apples and oranges, mine are mounted on the outside of the strut on my '07 heritage if that helps.

Thanks for this info on Ginz! I just ordered a complete setup (Bar, Pad, Mounts & Luggage rack). My current sissybar does't allow for a luggage rack mount. Also, got 15% off for Veterans Day.
