Default hand grips

With ya there texas30 . The Avon grips do a lot to relieve "death grip" on these old hands.

Great group of people and I highly recommend them and their grips.

I'm 5'8" and had my windshield shaved down to 13'. That's what I rode with on my 2010 Heritage so I used that as my guide. Absolutely awesome. I can see over it even when relaxed and the wind buffeting is non existent.

Go my 19" Freedom in & installed today. Really well made, great communication and they got it to me quick. I kept the painted bottom look. I like it, some don't. Apples & oranges. Now if this stupid weather here in Houston will cooperate, I'll let you guys know how well it works.

I'm a fan of my Freedom shield, too. I will say that I had a hell of a time getting it all lined back up when putting the hardware back on and I didn't get to re-stick the double sided tape on the vertical bars so they don't sit down against the shield. Not a huge deal but something to keep an eye on. I'm going to order another set of hardware and set it up on the factory shield just so I can use it if I want or need to in the future.

The instructions say to have 2 people to install and I believe that. Without my wife helping me, not sure I could have got it done. The only thing I need to fix is it looks like I overtighten the middle bolt on the throttle side.

Whend I finally put the correct vertical piece on the correct side, every thing fit fine. I struggled for a long time trying to install them on the wrong side...lot of pushing and cursing becaouse the holes would not line up. I did not realize that when I took the stock hardware off I them laid out the way I took them off facing the rider side of the shield. When I put them on I was working on the headlight side of the shield...me stupid!!!

Both yours and your Dad’s bike are fun rides. I was really torn between Bob and the Heritage, doing multiple demo rides on both. I’m more you Dad’s age, so ended up with the Heritage, like he did.

I only have 600 miles on it, but really enjoying the ride. I’m sure he will, too.

First off: Congrats and welcome to the family abceemike.

When for my first ride with the Freedom shield. Not a long one because the weather still sucks. I did however get a long enough ride in to say this....

It works. No buffering on my head at all. The 19" lines up right where it should for me & I'm only 5'8... I look over it not through it. Love the shield and I highly recommend the guys at freedom

Now to EVERY person who replied get wind deflectors: You guys are 110% correct. Now that the wind is no longer hitting me at eye (head) level it is so easy to tell & feel just how much wind is coming from below.... let me tell you.... it's a lot.
I put my arm across my chest (as some advised) and wow. Deflectors are a must have.
