Default Saddle bag question

Thinking of getting some leather stylesaddle bags (Not the fiberglass)in the future and doing some research on the thought?

Bike: 06FXSTI with the 200mm tire.

One of the issues that keeps popping up is each saddle bag always warns will not work with wide tire kit. Now I understand what that is but does theOE 200mm rear tire & swing arm consitute a wide tire kit?

Secondly, I have the rear axle covers and each saddlebag warns that they can't be used? Why? I see no reason why they would interfere...

Thirdly, each saddle bag states that therear turn signals must be relocated... I'd really rather not do that, I only plan on using the bagsfor long roadtrips! I have heard if your talented that a bracket can be frabicated that will shift the bags slightly forward from the orginal hardware mountingthus solving that problem of turn signal relocation.

I had some if not all the same issues as yourself about bags.

I did some homework and bought the bags listed below. A bit expensive, but made well. Put them on myself, two bolts per bag. No turn signal relocation.

Thanks for the input

I do have different axle covers than the ones in the Pic above. However, I just don't see how the ones I havecould interfere with the bags.

The turn signal relocationthing is what I disliked the most. I like them just the way they are considering how I've got my hog themed out.

But it was the wide tire thing that concerned me the most. I wasn't too sure how I could work around that problem?

Nice bags!

Wow those are some really big bags... I take it you don't have axle covers?

You should check out mine from Leatherpros. I'm very happy with them, they are well made and lockable. By the way they are their 3200 series bags and easily detachable.
