I have been reading about the 8 degree injectors on previous posts and it seems to have been limited to late 05' and early 06' production motors.Well my 06'FLSTSC-I (Springer Classic) was sent in yesterday for it's 5000 mi service and I brought it to there attention about the injectors. Well they called today and informed me I had the 8 degree injectors and my Springer was assembled in August of 2006 as far as I can tell. The dealer called and stated my bike was ready and that they replaced the injectors with the 25 degree CVO injectors. This is good enough for me to post a "check your injectors" for the 8 degree. Most of the time it ran fine but now and then it had prolonged turn over before it started and on a few occasions died out at the begining of acceleration from a stop even after running for a while.
I pick it up tomorrow and will give you an update on if there is a significant change in it's previous habits.
This is only a post for FYI, and a great Thank You to my HD dealership for a replacement with no hassle and an expedient one at that!
Well my 5000 mi service is done and my injectors were 8 degrees, they replaced them with the CVO 25 degree injectors and were glad to do it and even recalibrated it sinceI have the SE air cleaner and PC. All tasks were done in a few hours "Outstanding!" Thanks to M&S Harley Davidson in Chambersburg, Pa
By the way it cranks over quick and crisp and has immediate throttle response.

I suppose you have to look at the VIN number to determine the production date? That's too bad because I have a neck collar on mine. But for argument sake I can get a ruff idea if my bike falls into that time span by asking when does Harley start and end production years?

You can find out if you have the 8 degree injectors by looking at the injectors themselves. The numbers to look for are in the SB.
Interesting. I have an early '06 Heritage Classic with the 8 degree injectors, but have never had the slightest problem with rideabilty. Guess I just lucked out. I go on the theory that "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
Most of the problems with the injectors occurs at cooler temperatures. I have an 06 fxst and didn't have any problems until it got colder and then I had trouble with it starting right up. It was harder to start and would be a little "cranky" until it warmed up.
What about the 03's? My wife has an 03 FI Heritage. Were there problems w/those? It seems to run really good. It has V/H Straighshots and a K&N (installed by the dealer when new) So they did the upgrade to the ECM. We have the Screamin Eagle EFI Tuner part # 32107-01.
We never did have them dyno it. Should I?
