Question Sticking throttle...

Hey fellow softailers!!! Hoping someone can give some really needed advice!!! Put on some Arlen Ness deep cut grips this weekend and still cannot get the throttle to work right!!! Everything works fine except retightening the control mount over the grip!!! It starts to bind as soon as I start to hand tighten!!! Just won’t snap back no matter how it’s adjusted!!! Never had a problem with any other grips except these!!! I followed the grip instructions to a tee along with the service manual!!! Some people say try the roller bearing throttle end!!! Any advice or pointers would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks in advance!!!

Make sure the throttle lock thumbscrew on the lower switch housing is unscrewed. If it is screwed in it will lock the throttle grip when you tighten it down causing what you are experiencing.

Thanks for the reply Bone Doc!!! Yeah, just re did the whole process again and made sure the thumbscrew was unscrewed and it still binds!!! Doing some research and some said that the grooves for the cables are not deep enough causing it to rub when I tighten the housing and someone said to check the two areas where the brass barrels set in!!! They also might not be deep enough!!! Thanks again!!!

Also, trial fit the grip to make sure it rotates freely before assembling the rest.

Finally got the throttle to work like a charm!!! Dumb me never bother checking to see if the grip was rubbing against the bar end!!! It was and I backed it up about an 1/8 inch and that did the trick!!! Thanks to anyone who replied to my post!!! Very much appreciate it!!! Ride safe!!!
