Springer handle bars on heritage?

Springer handle bars on heritage?
I am interested in the 08 heritage classic, I am not crazy about those mini ape bars. Plus I am really short, so I will need to lower the bike about an inch...Does anyone have the Springer handlebars on a heritage? The dealer told me I would need new cables because there would be too much slack after changing the bars...I was also thinking of using some pullback risers with the springer bars...any commets or pictures would be appreciated.....
