2004 FXSTS - Springer Windshield Question

Looking to buy a windshield. I would like to install a King size not a Compact one. The docking bracket is the same. For some reason the King size windshield is not listed as fitting on my FXSTS, while the compact windshield will fit the FL... models skipping the 04 year. Something seems a little screwy here.
If anyone could clear things up for me I would appreciate it.

This is what my search found:

1. Docking Hardware Kit P/N 58907-96B
Required for installation of H-D Detachables Windshields on ’97-’11 FLSTS FLSTSB and FLSTSC and ’93-’09 FXSTS FXSTSB and ’09 FXSTSSE models.

2. King Size Windshield No. 58772-97
Fits ’97-’03 FLSTS and ’05-’07 FLSTSC models. Installation requires the separate purchase of Windshield Docking Hardware Kit P/N 58907-96B.

3. Compact Windsheeld No. 58770-96
Fits ’97-’03 FLSTS ’05-’07 FLSTSC and ’93-’09 FXSTS FXSTSB and ’09 FXSTSSE models. InsDotallation requires the separate purchase of Windshield Docking Hardware Kit P/N 58907-96B

The biggest difference between the compact and the king size is the width...the king is 2" wider...height over the headlight is the same.

Compact says it fits your bike
