This is a braided cable for 14 inch apes, i need to adjust it so i can adjust my clutch. I cant

If you have play at the lever that you can see, you can still adjust the back off at the clutch.

Most back off too far anyway. You need only enough to have cable play yet still be able to lever clutch and get the ***** in there proper place it the accutator that expands apart to push the clutch spring open.

Either your cable adjuster had been way over tighten or the ***** are in wrong position on ramp.

What was it like before you started messing with it?.

The middle nut is the lock. After loosen it, the other screw into each other to make slack. I assume this is what is stuck.

Be sure to add a signature line of your bike similar to mine in your user

You didn't specify the year or model of your Harley, however, here is the procedure for setting the clutch cable adjustment for a Twin Cam Touring bike.

Remember that you should have approx. 1/8" of play at the handle according to my shop manual. When you pull on the lever until tight there should be a 1/8" gap between the lever and the mount before you can pull on the cable.

After you loosen the jam nut you need to use 2 wrenches to turn the upper counter clockwise and hold the lower to spread them apart.
I use a quarter (.25 cents) to gauge perch spacing by holding the grip and pulling the cable.
Then tighten the jam nut.

Ranger73! I like that idea of using a Quarter! I will have to use that one. Thanks for sharing!
