Default Finely Mounted


Bought this H-D tool box 2 months ago , Didn't like the factory mount at all !!
Took me about a month putzn , but it's on now ,
2 or 3 more weeks and I'll have all my winter bike projects done

When I mounted it I also added 2 , ''1/8 drain holes in the bottom for the wet spring

Mines a different year but the tool box sits a lot farther up on the frame than that one.

I have one mounted with the factory mount, it has never gotten wet inside. I think you stand more of a chance of water getting in it with the holes you drilled

Are you planing on keeping tools in there? I would think with all the motion of the swing arm that could be an issue.....Just my opinions

10ga AR steel 2 clamps on top rail 1 on bottom , Holes drilled to lighten edges rounded to prevent wind whistle , It's going no where I don't , If the PO hadn't invested in a chrome swing arm it would have been a simple mount , just weld 2 tabs ,
Back out of the way , An inch in from factory , More old school look , No luck needed but thanks for your Good Wishes ,
