Hey everyone, I'm hoping I can get this answered here, seeing as how no one is looking to make an extra buck. I recently found a Smart Security System part # 41000021C advertised on ebay stating it's compatible with my bike however the only part number that I can find on the HD site that is compatible with my bike is 41000021E. I did a google search of 41000021C and the only relevant site is for the HD Canada site which also states it's compatible with my bike. My question is does anyone know if it matters my bike was built in PA vs CA for this part to fit? The seller does not accept returns so not looking to take a loss here.

 

I believe that the "E" version of this part is an updated version of the "C" version.

From what I've found about the Harley part numbering system, I think that any Harley part number that ends in a letter is just an updated version of the part without a letter at the end.

 

I hope that;s the case. I haven't really found anything that states that. I'm reposting this in the general chat to generate more responses since it's not specific to softails.
