This for a 2007 FLSTF Fatboy 6-Speed. Has anyone been able to figure out how to adjust the Shift Lever Centering Screw HD-35082-07? I have some uneven movement in the trans lever. Bike rear off the ground, 3rd gear and checking forward and rearward motion is unbalanced.
I found info on pre 07 units to adjust the pawl for even movement in both directions but nothing on this "Centering Screw". My problem is "not finding 1st or Neutral. The clutch has been adjusted at the Trans and I have a new cable ordered (broke the adjustor!).
Thanks to anyone that can provide a light on this mystery bolt. Shift Lever Centering Screw Reference: HD-35082-07 is in the centre – Torx Head Size?
The shifter pawl was adjustable on 5 speed transmissions until 1999 on Softails, 2000 on all other big twins.
The adjustment feature went away because of the change in the shift drum, the roller ball detent made the adjustment feature unnecessary, the screw remained, but it was a straight screw, not an adjustment cam.
The OEM 6 speeds don`t have a shift pawl adjustment, the bolt simply centers the shift pawl spring, it`s not an adjuster.

Thank you very much for the update ... I was thinking about making a tool to get into the tight spot and loosen/tighten the bolt. You just saved me a big headache. I'll now concentrate on shifter play and clutch adjustments.
