I want to remove the floorboards from my 2004 FLSTF and put the HD extended forward controls on it. Does anyone have any experience at all with it (good or bad) ? I would appreciate any help with this. I will be ordering this from Iraq and want to have all my parts at home waiting for me upon my return. Thanks.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. Still looking for feedback from anyone who may have done it.

 

I have not put on the forward controls you are talking about, but I did put on an extended brake arm and shift lever. It made the bike much more comfortable and I think it looks cool too. If the forward controls are anything like having extended levers then I think you will like the conversion.

 

Are you doing it for the looks, or are you going for some more leg room?

 

I think we all consider looks as well as practicality when adding accessories. I am 6'3" so I think that it will give me a bit more leg room as well as looking pretty good in my eyes. Not too many Fatboys out there that have forward controls.

From what I understand, most people do it for leg room, and/or better lean angles.
